Who is GEFERTEC ?

Founded in January 2015 in Berlin, GEFERTEC develops additive manufacturing machines using WAAM (Wire Arc Additive Manufacturing) technology. This technology is based on the mature process of arc welding, associated with a displacement in the 3 dimensions of the WAAM head.

GEFERTEC machines are recognized for their production capabilities, their wide range of materials and their high metallurgical quality.

The GTarc 60-5, which offers a manufacturing volume of Ø400mm-z450mm, will be suitable for many applications, such as the repair and production of large parts. The arc603 and arc605 machines are perfect manufacturing solutions for metalworking companies as well as for research and development institutions.

SOME KEY POINTS

The materials are used in wire form, which has many advantages over the powder:

  • Nearly 100% use
  • Storage facility
  • Low cost
  • Easy handling
  • Variety of materials

ARC WELDING

Gefertec applies its expertise in the mature arc welding process, associated with a 3-dimensional displacement of the WAAM head, which deposits the molten metal layer by layer.

CONVENTIONAL MANUFACTURING VERSUS GEFERTEC

Gefertec technology is an alternative to many types of conventional fabrication of metal parts, such as forming, cutting, joining, coating, milling, turning, etc.

Gefertec allows the direct manufacture of preforms faster and more interactive than the foundry – for small series.

This process allows a reduction of production costs up to 60% compared to conventional processes, thanks to the number of production steps which is greatly reduced:

  • Conventional processes: rough manufacturing, storage, roughing, finishing …: storage costs, materials (chips), tools …
  • Gefertec: wire, additive manufacturing, finishing: limited number of steps

ADVANTAGES

  • Exceptional design freedom
  • New market opportunities
  • Innovations and new products
  • High manufacturing speed
  • Great diversity of materials
  • Very good mechanical properties
  • Large parts, up to 1100 X 1400 X 1560 mm
  • The easiest metal additive manufacturing process to master
  • Reduce manufacturing costs up to 60%
  • Reduction of the number of manufacturing steps
  • Reduction of process costs
  • Reduction of material costs
  • Reduction of investment costs
  • No loss of material (all the wire is deposited)
