The Arcam Q20plus is designed for production of aerospace components such as turbine blades and structural airframe components. The machine allows building of large components and optimal stacking of smaller parts. The build chamber is developed for easy powder handling and fast turn-around times.
In the Arcam EBM process, parts are built up layer by-layer from metal powder, melted by a powerful electron beam. Each layer is melted to the exact geometry as defined by the 3D model. The Arcam EBM process takes place in a vacuum chamber and at high temperature, resulting in stress-relieved components with material properties better than cast and comparable to wrought material.
Arcam Q20plus includes several new features:
The latest generation of electron gun for improved productivity and surface finish
Improved build platform insulation for higher productivity
Fast cooling system
Powder Recovery System
Arcam LayerQam™ a system for quality control
Software adapted to the generation of large parts
