SolidThinking is an industrial design software company developing INSPIRE, a topology optimization software and EVOLVE, a 3D modeling and rendering software.
SolidThinking creates, develops, and markets technology that helps its user community bring the most desirable products to their customers faster. solidThinking was started in 1991 to meet the needs of Italian industrial designers, and acquired by Altair, the largest private software company in computer-aided engineering, in 2008.
SolidThinking software have now been expanded for designers, engineers, architects, and scientists. They are easy to learn and work with existing CAD tools.
SolidThinking INSPIRE , which uses the industry proven Altair OptiStruct technology, enables design engineers, product designers, and architects to create and investigate structurally efficient concepts quickly and easily. Traditional structural simulations allow engineers to check if a design will support the required loads. INSPIRE enhances this process by generating a new material layout within a package space using the loads as an input.
SolidThinking EVOLVE allows industrial designers to develop forms faster. It enables them to capture an initial sketch, explore styling alternatives, and visualize products with realistic renderings generated in real time. It frees designers from the constraints of engineering-oriented CAD tools, while allowing the export of digital models required by others in the product development process.
SolidThinking solutions are used in various sectors such as Industry (automotive, aerospace,…), architecture and education. INSPIRE can be a very good solution for fablabs/ microfactories as an entry point to lattice engineering.
